How much nickel plating solution do I need?

Start with the working volume of the tank, not only the dimensions of the part. The bath must be deep and wide enough to immerse the work without touching the tank, anodes, heater, or other fixtures.

Coverage cannot be estimated from volume alone. Deposit thickness, surface area, drag-out, and bath maintenance all affect how much chemistry you use. A one-gallon bath is a practical start for small parts when the tank is sized for it.
