Nickel plating troubleshooting
Work through problems in a fixed order. For peeling, return to degreasing, rinsing, oxide removal, and the time between activation and plating.
For rough deposits, inspect the bath for particles, damaged anode material, and contamination. For dark or burned edges, look at current density and part geometry before changing chemistry.
Change one controlled variable at a time. A strike can help difficult surfaces, but it will not replace poor cleaning. Include the base metal, tank volume, part area, and photos when you contact support.
