Nickel plating amperage guide
Amperage should be based on the total immersed surface area and the current-density target in the product instructions. Count both sides, edges, holes, and other exposed surfaces, then multiply by the specified current density.
Do not copy an amperage setting from a differently sized part. The same current produces a very different current density when surface area changes.
Before turning current up to fix a finish problem, check clean electrical contact, polarity, anode placement, temperature, and bath condition. An adjustable DC power supply gives control; the product instructions still set the range.
